Electrical systems
FLIR and Fluke-assisted inspection of switchgear, UPS systems, ATS and STS systems, generators, panels, terminations and distribution assets.
Infrared insight for mission-critical environments
Engineering-led, in-person thermal surveys and clear technical reports for data centres, electrical infrastructure and critical facilities across Europe.
01 — INFORMATION
Infrared thermography converts emitted infrared energy into a visual temperature map. It allows trained personnel to examine equipment quickly and without physical contact, revealing abnormal heat patterns that ordinary visual checks can miss.
For data centres, where power continuity and cooling performance are fundamental, thermal surveys add a valuable layer of condition monitoring across electrical and mechanical systems.
FLIR and Fluke-assisted inspection of switchgear, UPS systems, ATS and STS systems, generators, panels, terminations and distribution assets.
Data-centre cooling and airflow assessment, including hot and cold aisle performance, CRAC and CRAH systems, fan motors, pumps and pipework.
Reports containing the measured evidence and engineering context clients need when considering maintenance, investigation or operational changes.
02 — THE SCAN
Capture assets under representative operating load and document the environmental conditions that affect interpretation.
Compare thermal patterns across phases, components and similar assets to identify meaningful temperature differences.
Translate observations into an engineering report that helps the client investigate, plan maintenance and retain evidence.
03 — WHY IT MATTERS
Find developing electrical, mechanical or cooling issues before they have the opportunity to disrupt critical operations.
Use measured evidence to support investigation, prioritisation and targeted maintenance rather than relying on guesswork alone.
Repeatable scan routes and consistent reports help teams compare asset condition over time and verify post-repair results.
Clear image pairs and temperature data provide a practical audit trail for facilities teams, clients and relevant stakeholders.
04 — EXAMPLE WORK
Illustrative examples of the observations and reporting format an in-person thermal survey can provide.
A comparative temperature pattern that may justify further electrical investigation under an approved safe system of work.
Discuss a similar survey ↗A concentrated thermal signature at a termination, recorded with context, temperatures and a clear equipment reference.
Discuss a similar survey ↗A wider-area thermal view used to help identify temperature distribution and potential hot-air recirculation.
Discuss a similar survey ↗Demonstration imagery only — not evidence from a completed client survey.
05 — THE DELIVERABLE
Each finding is structured to make the evidence easy to understand, locate and pass to the appropriate engineering or maintenance team.
06 — QUALIFICATIONS & EQUIPMENT
Our attended inspection approach combines infrared thermography, power-quality analysis and practical engineering experience across critical power and data-centre infrastructure.

High-speed three-phase power-quality analysis for capturing transients, harmonics, dips, swells and electrical-system performance.
High-resolution 640 × 480 thermal imaging for detailed inspection of electrical, mechanical and critical-infrastructure assets.

Attended power-quality recording with continuous waveform capture and detailed event analysis during agreed on-site investigations.
Thermal findings are captured in person and interpreted in an engineering context, with clear asset references and measured evidence.
Experience across UPS, ATS and STS systems, generator sets, switchgear, distribution equipment and supporting infrastructure.
Services are delivered through planned in-person scans using professional FLIR, Fluke and Elspec equipment.
Industrial router connectivity can support secure instrument communication and data transfer during attended investigations where required.
Public professional credentials include Engineering Council UK Incorporated Engineer registration, MIET membership, BCIA Advanced Certificate Building Controls 01–06 and PE AQPE Spain recognition.
Leadership experience covers electrical commissioning, power quality, thermography and data-centre critical infrastructure across Europe.
07 — LEADERSHIP
“A useful survey does more than show a hot spot. It gives the client clear evidence, technical context and a practical next step.”
CATAB&CO Ltd combines data-centre engineering experience with structured infrared inspection and concise reporting. The aim is straightforward: provide decision-makers with dependable information before a developing issue becomes an operational problem.
